Alfred’s Run Continues
Alfred Nobel’s winning English run continued when Chetan took the Racing UK Handicap (six furlongs) at Kempton yesterday. (Jan 6)
Chetan, the 5/1 equal favourite ridden by Luke Morris for young Essex trainer Charlie Wallis, a former jockey, tracked the leaders, led inside the final furlong and finished strongly to score by 1 1/4-lengths from Gold Beau (11/1) and the 5/1 equal favourite, Welease Bwain.
Chetan’s success followed the win on Tuesday at Southwell by Alfred Nobel’s Carbutt’s Ridge in the 32Red Handicap run over a mile. Carbutt’s Ridge ran the favourite at 11/4 and scored by 3 3/4-lengths.
