Trade Fair Veteran Triumphs

Trade Fair 8Y0 Spice Fair overcame problems to gain his eighth win when successful in the Haydock Park Handicap (14 furlongs) at Haydock in England yesterday. (August 6)

Spice Fair, a 6/1 chance ridden by Jamie Spencer, who has won champion jockey titles in both England and Ireland, for Berkshire trainer Mark Usher, was steadied at the start and held-up till the two-furlong marker.
He then finished strongly to score by a neck from Jane Chapel-Hyam’s Injun Sands (10/1) and Lady Of Yve (14/1).
The win made up for an unlucky second for Spice Fair in the Raymond Handicap at Ffos Las in Wales at his previous start. Spice Fair has also won at Kempton (three times), Goodwood (twice), Sandown and Beverley.
