Alfred Nobel Strikes Again

Lynward Park’s shuttle stallion Alfred Nobel gained the seventh individual winners from his first northern hemisphere crop when Chetan won the Live The Moment Nursery (six furlongs) at Kempton in England yesterday. (Wednesday October 29)

Chetan, a 6/1 chance trained by Milton Bradley, beat Richard Hannon’s 9/2 favourite, Reflation, by a neck with Mick Channon’s River Spirit (12/1) in third place.
Chetan had finished a neck second to Hannon’s Mecado in the Dave Evans Racing Nursery Handicap (six furlongs) at Chepstow at his previous start.
The win came two days after Regal Gleam, the first of the Alfred Nobel progeny to appear in WA, won a barrier trial at Belmont Park.
Alfred Nobel, winner of the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes in Ireland, also has 10 individual place getters from his first northern hemisphere crop.
He remains at Coolmore Stud, Ireland, the world’s leading thoroughbred nursery, this year but returns to WA next season in a timely boost for the local breeding industry.
