Balmont’s Kempton Win

Presburg, by Lynward Park Stud’s Balmont, won the UK Race Commission Free Handicap (12 furlongs) at Kempton in England yesterday. (November 20)

Ridden by Oisin Murphy for trainer Joe Tuite, Presburg won by 1 3/4-lengths from Marco Botti’s Grendisar and William Jarvis’s Clerk’s Choice.
Tuite, who was assistant to leading UK trainer Mick Channon for eights years, prepares his team from Shefford Valley Stables on the Berkshire Downs.
Murphy, 18, from Killarney in Ireland, is a rising star of UK racing. He hit the headlines riding four winners at the Ayr Gold Cup meeting in September, including the feature race on Andrew Balding’s Highland Colori.
Presburg is from the US-bred mare Eschasse, a daughter of Zizal.
