A relation to Lynward Park’s Alfred Nobel has topped the the Tattersall’s October Yearling Sale in England.
The filly, by Galileo from Alluring Park, by Green Desert, is a full-sister to this year’s Group 1 English Oaks winner Was.
Nicholas de Wantrigant, of Mandore International, secured the filly at 1.5 million guineas after a spirited bidding duel with agent James Delahooke and Coolmore Stud’s John Magnier.
“She’s one that you would like on your farm,” said de Wantrigant. “She is a lovely filly with a classic pedigree and she moves very well. She will be trained in France.”
Alluring Park is a half-sister to New Approach, the English Derby winner and hottest first season sire in Europe.
Her dam, Park Express, the champion filly in England and Ireland in 1986, is Alfred Nobel’s third dam.
The sale topping filly was consigned by Seamus Burns’ Lodge Park Stud, who also bred and sold Alfred Nobel to Coolmore.
High prices are the norm in this superb family.
Was topped the 2010 Tattersall’s sale at 1.2 million guineas.
