Alfred’s Big Day Out

It was a big Saturday for Lynward Park’s highly-promising young sire Alfred Nobel.

With just two runners at Belmont Park, Alfred Nobel’s Showy Chloe won the James Boags Premium Handicap and Stored Energy, a winner at her previous two starts, was second in the Schweppes Plate.
Then at Beverley in England, Alfred Nobel’s Popsies Joy ran on from mid-field to take the Constant Security Handicap (7 1/2 furlongs).
Alfred Nobel, who will stand the coming season at $4,500, plus GST, is WA’s leading sire of 2Y0’s ahead of Snippetson, Oratorio, Demerit and War Chant, with all these stallions ranked within Australia’s top 50.
That should come as no surprise. For Alfred Nobel was a brilliant juvenile winning both the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes in Ireland.
