Trade Fair On Fire

Alwyn Park Stud’s Trade Fair has had a weekend to remember.

Trade Fair’s Tradesman won the Terrace Restaurant – Book Now Handicap (2000m) at Belmont Park on Saturday, Proceedwithcaution won the Amelia Park Beef Handicap (1400m) and Drupa was a short neck second to My Magic Miss in the Perth Racing Young Membership Handicap (2100m).
Then at Kalgoorlie on Sunday, Trade Fair’s Attamor won the Noble – The Society Handicap (1200m).
Tradesman, a full-brother to the classy six-time winner Trading Day, has won at five of six Belmont Park starts. He’s two for two at winter headquarters this year and last season’s wins were highlighted by the Listed 1600m Belmont Guineas and 2000m Dayana Plate.
Proceedwithcaution carried a career high 61kg at his second run in 13 months and has now won at eight of 16 starts. He won the Listed 2200m Belmont Classic and Dayana Plate in 2014 and his Ascot wins are headed by the Listed 1600m York Stakes.
Drupa, up from 1600m at his fourth run this preparation, gave a real ‘be on me next time’ performance. He worked over from an outside draw to lead-up the one-out line and led top of the straight carrying 4kg more than the winner.
Trade Fair, who stands for $5,000, plus GST, has sired 203 individual winners and has had Group/Listed winners in WA, the UK, Europe, UAE, Hong Kong and Canada. His feature race winners have been successful from 1000m to 2400m.
