Another Long Distance Double For Trade Fair

It was another long-distance double for WA sire Trade Fair on Saturday. (December 14)

The promising Trading Day rattled home with a race best 34.31sec. final 600m to gain a first-up win in the Atco Gas Trophy (1200m) at Ascot then George Benjamin took the Ladbrokes Handicap (seven furlongs) at Southwell in England.
Trading Day, the $6 equal second favourite, is trained by the former outstanding jockey John Wilson, who was celebrating his 78th birthday.
“He’s come back stronger and appears set for a good preparation,” said Wilson.
“We’ll take it step by step. He’s a lovely horse and a real gentleman. He’s given me a great thrill.”
Trading Day is from Virelay, by Laranto.
George Benjaim, who started the favourite at 5 to 4, was slow away and finished wide to gain his fourth career success. He is from Unchain My Heart, by Pursuit Of Love.
