‘Granny’ Is On Fire
Trade Fair three-year-old filly Granny On Fire continued her sparkling Irish form with a nine-length win at Ballinrobe yesterday. (Monday August 12)
Granny On Fire started the 11/4 second favourite in the Burleigh Accountants Handicap (nine furlongs) but turned the race into a one-act affair.
She was held-up till the half-way mark then ran on wide to hit the front two furlongs out and dashed clear to win, in the words of the esteemed English Racing Post: ‘with extended advantage.’
The success followed Granny On Fire’s four-length win in the Invader Handicap (one mile) at Bellewstown on July 6.
Granny On Fire, trained by Michael Mulvany and ridden by Shane Grey, is from Kashra, by Dancing Dissident.
