Five Winners In Three Days For Trade Fair
It was five winners in three days for the rapidly emerging sire Trade Fair.
Carney and Fair Haze won at Pinjarra last Thursday. Milly’s Gift and Portrade won in England and Ireland on Friday. And Proceedwithcaution was a runaway winner at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Carney won the Pro Earth Civil Maiden (1400m) by 3/4-length as the $5 second favourite at his fourth start. Fair Haze gained his second win taking the Racing Up To Sept 4 Handicap (1400m) by 3/4-length as the $4.40 favourite.
Milly’s Gift gained her fourth win in 11 starts winning the Palacegate Touch Handicap (five furlongs) at Sandown by 1/2-length at 8/1. Portrade, having his fifth start, won the Irish Mirror Handicap (17 furlongs) at Bellewstown by 3/4-length as a 40/1 shot from the 2/1 favourite Quarton.
Proceedwithcaution won for the third time in seven starts sprinted away to take the Dayana Plate (2000m) by 2 1/2-lengths as the $3.70 second favourite. He’s well on line for the $100,000 Listed Belmont Classic (2200m) on Saturday week.
