Three Days – Three Winners

It was three days and three winners for versatile Trade Fair, WA’s sire of the moment.

Renegotiate (from L’Extra Honor, by Hero’s Honor) started the sequence winning the DFDS Hurdle (17 furlongs) at Market Rasen in England last Friday.
Trade Down (from Downswept, by Montjeu) put in a super performance to race wide without cover and win the Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap (1600m) at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Then Fat Kiddy (from Kintore’s Luck, by I’m In Luck) won the Phenom 2008 Stakes (1600m) in Singapore on Sunday.
Trainer George Daly believes Trade Down could develop into a Festival Of Perth Racing candidate – next year.
“He is relishing the conditions at Belmont Park so we will keep him racing during winter,” said Daly. “The timing would not be right to bring him back later in the year.
“But he’s a tough horse and if he continues to progress as we hope next year’s programme could be aimed around the better spring and summer races. He could well develop into a Railway Stakes horse.”
Daly said Trade Down reminded him of his former star Little Imagele. And that’s a big wrap.
Little Imagele won 15 times, from 1200m to 2400m, taking the Group 1 Western Mail Classic and Listed Anniversary Cup, Ascot Gold Cup and Premiers Cup. He was also successful in the Edgar Meares Cup, City Of Belmont Cup and Birthday Cup.
