She Is Quality
Balmont filly She’s Quality lived up her her name gaining the third win from just five starts with a two-length success in the Crown Perth Handicap (1200m) at Ascot on Wednesday. (November 28)
She’s Quality won at Bunbury and Ascot, both times over 1100m, at her first two starts in March and April.
She then drew 10 of 12 when a first-up 1 3/4-length fourth to Hey Blondie in the Crown Club Handicap (1200m) last month then jumped from 11 of 16 when 9 1/2-length 15th to Fuddle Dee Duddle in the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m).
A more favourable seven of 16 enabled Paul Harvey to ride She’s Quality confidently on Wednesday and she proved too good sprinting away to a convincing win.
“She’s had no luck with barriers and over-raced in the Champion Fillies Stakes,” said trainer Ron Elvy.
“Back in her own class she came away with the goods. She’s got the ability. We play with her and keep her happy. She does the rest.”
