A ‘Fair’ Name
Emerging Trade Fair three-year-old Nameitwhatyoulike made it two wins in succession when taking the Business Necessities Handicap (1mile1/2furlong) at Nottingham in England yesterday. (October 7)
Nameitwhatyoulike, the 11/4 favourite and ridden by Paul Mulrennay for North Yorkshire trainer Mick Easterby, tracked the leaders and dashed to the front inside the final 75 yards to win by 3/4-length.
Mulrennay adopted the same tactics to win on Nameitwhatyoulike over seven furlongs at Catterick on October 30.
Nameitwhatyoulike is from Emma Peel, by Emarati. She is a Listed German winner, a half-sister to English Listed winner Risk Master and is also the dam of Norweigan Listed winner Females Fun.
Easterby, who trains at Sheriff Hutton, has been a prominent trainer for more than 50 years. He prepared champion sprinter Lochnager to win the 1976 King’s Stand Stakes, July Cup and Nunthorpe Stakes and the following year won the English One Thousand Guineas with Mrs McArdy.
Late season bookings are being taken to Trade Fair, who stands at Alwyn Park, Serpentine.
