Lynward Park’s Balmont has completed a siring double – 14,500 km apart.
Konstantin, trained by Marcus Tregoning, was held-up in running but sprinted clear in the final stages to win the Pipecenter Handicap (seven furlongs) at Brighton in England on Friday.
Then, 24 hours later, Korolenko, trained by Steve Wolfe, won the TIS Recruitment Maiden (1400m) at the Kalgoorlie Cup meeting.
Konstantin, a winner at five of 17 runs, is from Manuka Magic, by Key Of Luck, and is a half-brother to the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes winner Aspen Darling. He is from the immediate family of Group 1 winners Grand Lodge, Magic Flute and Fine Society.
Korolenko is from Secret Pact, by Bletchley Park, and is from the super WA family of Jungle Dawn, Jungle Mist, Jungle Hero, Early Express and Superscenic.
