New Approach, the close relation to Lynward Park’s Alfred Nobel, continues the brilliant start to his siring career.
His daughter Newfangled, trained in England by John Gosden for Princess Haya of Jordan, has given her rivals a galloping lesson in winning the EBF Maiden Fillies Stakes (six furlongs) by 4 1/2 lengths on debut at Newmarket.
Newfangled is from the winning Machiavellian mare, Scarlet Ibis, a daughter of Flagbird, the champion older mare in England, Ireland and Italy in 1995.
This is the immediate family of Mineshaft, winner of the Group 1 Woodward Stakes, Jockey Club Gold Cup, Suburban Handicap and Pimlico Special and the 2003 US Horse of the Year.
New Approach’s son, Dawn Approach, has won at his only three starts and has been installed favourite for next year’s Group 1 English Two Thousand Guineas.
New Approach, the champion European 2Y0 and 3Y0, is a half-brother to Alfred Nobel’s grand-dam, Dazzling Park, the 1999 Champion European 3Y0 Filly.
Alfred Nobel won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes and was the 2009 Champion Irish 2Y0 Colt.
He stands out amongst the new sires in WA – giving locals the rare opportunity to breed to the bloodlines that are once again dominating European racing.
