Un-raced Trade Fair two-year-old Trade Tip made a most impressive public trial debut running away with a 400m heat at Lark Hill on Monday (February 13).
Trade Tip, bred by Colin Pearce and trained by his son Ben, stormed home under Chloe Chatfield to score by 1 1/4-lengths in 24.21sec.
Trade Tip is a son of the former quality mare Tip The Angel, by Protos’ son Tip The Pro from Choc Mint, by Race For Pleasure, a son of Bletchingly.
Tip The Angel won at eight of 37 starts, from 980m to 1200m, and was placed 14 times earning $228,640.
She won the WATC Pink Ribbon Day Sprint, Jackson’s Restaurant Handicap, Jacks or Better Handicap, EMRC Handicap and Amelia Park Wines Handicap and was second and third in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic and fourth in the Listed Beaufine Stakes and Belmont Newmarket.
Tip The Angel’s grand-dam Mint Edition, by Beau Sovereign, was a half-sister to Magic Message, winner of the Listed WATC Summer Stakes, second in the Group 3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic and fourth in the Listed Raconteur Quality Stakes.
Trade Tip is Tip The Angel’s first foal.
Trade Fair has sired 88 winners at an impressive 59.1 per cent.
