Alfred Nobel 3Y0 Gin In The Inn overcame problems in running to easily win the Nova Display Handicap (six furlongs) at Pontefract in England yesterday. (Sunday, August 14)
Gin In The Inn (11/2) was held-up at the rear but sprinted hard when clear to beat the 3/1 favourite, Van Gerwen, by 2 3/4-lengths with a neck to More Beau (7/1, by More Than Ready).
Gin In The Inn was ridden by dual champion English jockey Paul Hanagan for North Yorkshire trainer Richard Fahey, a former jockey who last year trained 235 winners to equal Richard Hannan’s British record set in 2013. Gin In The Inn had won at Leicester on debut.
Alfred Nobel, a Group 1 and 2 winner in Ireland, has quickly developed in WA’s most promising sire. He stands for $4,500, plus GST, at Lynward Park Stud, Bullsbrook.
