An Explosive Win
Alfred Nobel two-year-old colt Explosive Power lived up to his name by finishing hard to win the EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes (six furlongs) at Redcar in England on Friday. (October 16)
Jockey Joey Haynes sat Explosive Power, a 9/2 chance having his third start, just off the pace.
He then dashed clear near the two furlong pole to beat Regal Response (8/1) by 2 1/2 lengths. The 100/1 chance First Wheat was a further length away third.
Explosive Power had put the writing on the wall, with a third to Easy Code in the Strawberry Hill Maiden Stakes (six furlongs) at Pontefract at his previous start.
