Red Hot Trade Fair

Alwyn Park Stud-based Trade Fair continued his red hot UK form when Knights Templar won the Gowran Park Handicap (one mile) at Gowran Park in Ireland yesterday. (May 30)

The win followed the success of Trade Fair’s Moonstone Magic in the Totepool Stakes (one mile 1/2 furlong) at Nottingham and Clock On Tom in the Lightstream Handicap (also over one mile 1/2 furlong) at Beverley in England on Wednesday.
Knights Templar, the 4/1 second favourite, sat handy under jockey Danny Grant, dashed to the lead with 1 1/2 furlongs to go and held on to score by 1 1/4 lengths. Tommy Stack’s 100/30 favourite, Pivotal Rock, was 2 1/2 lengths away in fifth.
The win made up for Knight Templar’s unlucky 1/2 length third to College Boy and Cookie Crumbles in the Social Package Handicap (seven furlongs) at Cork in his previous start, when he was slow away.
Knights Templar is from Step Aloft, by Shirley Heights.
Trade Fair stands the coming season at an unchanged $4500, plus gst.
