A filly by New Approach has topped the opening session of the two-day Goffs Orby sale in Ireland.
The full sister to unbeaten juvenile star Dawn Approach (New Approach-Hymn Of The Dawn) was bred by trainer Jim Bolger and sold to Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock for the equivalent of $A978,453.
“She is a lovely filly and we all know how good Dawn Approach is,” said Peter Doyle. “She was bought by a syndicate and will go into training with Bolger.”
Dawn Approach’s five wins include the Group 1 Irish National Stakes, Group 2 Royal Ascot Coventry Stakes and Listed Rochestown Stakes.
New Approach won the Group 1 English Derby, Irish Champion Stakes, English Champion Stakes, Dewhurst Stakes and Irish National Stakes.
The leading UK first season sire, New Approach is a half-brother to Dazzling Park, the 1999 European champion 3Y0 filly.
Dazzling Park is the grand dam of Lynward’s Alfred Nobel, also a former champion Irish 2Y0 and winner of the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes.
Alfred Nobel shuttles between Coolmore Stud in Country Tipperary, Ireland, the world’s leading thoroughbred nursery, and WA, where he is currently standing his second season.
