Trade Fair’s Run Hits France

WA stallion Trade Fair’s super winning run continued when the 4/1 chance Alchimia won the Prix de la Promenade Plantee (seven furlongs) at Longchamp in France on Sunday (September 2).
Alchimia, who won by 1 1/2-lengths in a smart 1.22.82, had previously run second in the Listed Premio Royal Mares in Italy and third in the Listed Prix Miss Satamixu  in France.
She is prepared by the leading trainer Pascal Bary, who started as an assistant to legendary Francois Boutin, trainer of the champion filly Miesque, for owner Abdelouahed El Alami, a French trained lawyer who heads the El Alami Group.
The El Alami Group is based in Tangier and produces 30 per cent of the GDP of Morocco. It concentrates primarily on the building industry but has interests in real estate, mining and steel.
Alchimia’s dam, Alchimiste, by Linamix, won at 3300m and descends from a highly-successful international family.
Alchimiste’s dam, Alcove, by Valdez, is a half-sister to Arcangues, Agathe (the dam of Aquarelliste, Artiste Royal and Annekov), Alamo Bay, Afrique Bleu Azur (the dam of Cape Verdi and L’African Bleu), Asnieres (the dam of Australie), Ange Bleu (the dam of Angara, Actrice and Arlesienne), Altana (the dam of Galatee) and Anna Karenina (the dam of Anna’s Rock).
Arcangues won the Group 1 US Breeders Cup Classic and the Group 1 Prix d’Isaphan.
Agathe won the Group 3 Prix de Psyche; Aquarelliste the Group 1 Prix de Diane, Group 1 Prix Vermeille and Group 1 Prix Ganay; Artiste Royal won the Group 1 Charles Whittingham Memorial and Group 1 Clement L. Hirsch Memorial and Annekov won the Listed Emirates Airlines Plate at Flemington.
Alamo Bay won the Listed Prix du Pin. Cape Verdi took the Group 1 English One Thousand Guineas and L’African Bleu the Listed Prix de l’Avre.
Australie won the Group 3 Prix de Flore. Angara took the Group 1 Diane Handicap and Group 1 Beverley D Stakes; Actrice the Group 2 Prix Corrida and Arlesienne the Listed Prix des Tourelles.
Galatee won the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes in Ireland, where Anna’s Rock took the Listed Fairy Bridge Stakes.
